VT INDUSTRIES EXPANDS HOLSTEIN, IOWA MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Indeed, it has been a monumental year for VT Industries celebrating the company’s 60th anniversary in July, production of the 10th millionth door, and now beginning a major addition. Ground broke this fall for an 82,000 square foot expansion to the Holstein, Iowa door manufacturing facility. 

This major expansion will include the relocation of the veneer production line as well as expanding capacity to continue to deliver on VT’s industry leading fixed lead-time strategy and the ability to do higher-end premium flush products and finishes in the Iowa manufacturing facility. Currently VT can produce about 15,000 doors a week at the Holstein headquarters and after the expansion project is complete, the company will be able to produce an estimated 20,000 doors a week.

This $21 million expansion was also approved for the Iowa Economic Development Authority Grant (IEDA) as the company continues to bring more employment opportunities to the community. The new expansion will bring 60 new jobs to the area.

The manufacturing addition will be added to the north side of the existing structure to what is now a parking lot. There will also be a 10,000 square foot building for engineering and a new parking area as well.  The expansion is expected to be completed in June of 2017.
