No one ever wants to think about the possibility of a tragedy happening at their school, but it is best to be prepared. Keeping children safe is a #1 requirement of educators and we, as suppliers to the education industry, do not take that commitment lightly. In response, VT offers several durable door openings that will protect students and staff.

Bullet-Resistance
Bullet-resistant doors can play a dramatic role in the safety of students and staff in the event of an attack. VT can supply ballistic ratings for resistant levels 1-8 (per UL 752) and levels IIA-III (per N.I.J. 0108.01) paired with 20-minute fire ratings. VT can also provide bullet-resistant accessories including metal vision panels, glazing, and astragals.

Fire-Ratings
Fire-rated doors play a vital role in providing protection in the unfortunate event of a fire. VT offers fire ratings ranging from 20-90-minutes in wood doors, jambs, and even MDF doors. VT has received fire protection certificates tested and classified by Warnock Hersey (WHI), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), or QAI and meets WDMA's extra heavy-duty performance standards with appropriate blocking.

Our doors are produced using pre-consumer recycled particleboard cores and high-density fiberboard crossbands, for optimal raw material efficiency. Our countertops are produced using pre-consumer recycled particleboard and MDF substrates—these materials meet CARB II standards for low emissions.
