- Doors with extended fire ratings were required to meet code inside the building at 45 and 90 minutes.
- The project called for durable doors that would provide years of low-maintenance service.
Project Overview:
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center – Breast & Imaging Center (MSKCC) completed a 240,000-square-foot addition to its existing facilities in New York City, NY. The new addition houses imaging, radiology, diagnostics and testing, and other high-tech medical procedures.
Building Challenge:
MSKCC had to account for the leap that technology would make over the course of 5 years—and equip the center with custom-built machines to address the building’s specific needs. The center needed the same level of durability and long-lasting performance from its doors.
VT’s Contribution:
VT Industries provided 318 beech Euro steamed doors for the project. The doors featured AA-grade veneers and a custom finish.
