About VT

  • It was 1956 in Holstein, Iowa.

  • About VT Image

A small, family-owned company began making countertops for bathroom vanities. It wasn't long before word of their impeccable craftsmanship and attention to detail spread. Their passion for the business was obvious, and it showed in their products. The company quickly became a major player in the countertop industry.

Today, that company - VT Industries - is still family-owned and operated. Our headquarters remain in Holstein. And we're still incredibly passionate about our craft. However, our company has grown to become the industry leader in Fine Laminate Countertops as well as Architectural Wood Doors.

We've also expanded our operations far beyond our first small shop. Not only do we have a manufacturing complex in Holstein, we also have eight other facilities spread strategically across the United States and Canada. Regardless of our growth, though, our philosophy remains the same: treat every customer as if they were your only customer. That means delivering the finest products possible, supported by the ultimate in customer service. At VT, that's one thing that will never change.

  • Architectural Wood Doors

  • About VT Image

VT Industries provides the full range of architectural wood doors that you'd expect from the industry leader. Manufactured in our Holstein complex as well as our New Albany complex, we offer 5-ply wood veneer, high pressure decorative laminate and stile and rail doors.

Our 5-ply flush wood veneer doors are created with VT's edge-before-face design to provide a seamless wood appearance.

VT stile and rail doors are made with the same quality you've come to trust in our flush wood doors and offer aesthetic compatibility and design integrity to any project.

Our flush wood veneer and stile and rail doors are both available in a variety of wood species, with standard or custom-matched stains.

Our high pressure decorative laminate (HPDL) doors are available in thousands of different laminates from all major manufacturers. By applying the edge laminates before the faces, we virtually eliminate chipping and delamination along the stile edge, making HPDL doors a favorite of architects and builders.

But we're not finished yet. VT also offers a complete line of specialty doors, such as lead-lined, acoustical and the most complete fire door approval listing of any manufacturer in the nation. And, we offer environmental doors and assist with LEED credits.

  • The Perfect Combination of Technology and Craftsmanship

  • VT Industries was founded on fine craftsmanship - a company trait we are still proud to possess. All of our employees are dedicated to superiority in their craft.

As an industry leader, we also rely on the best technology to complement this craftsmanship. We literally search the world for the best manufacturing technologies. This allows us to continually upgrade our equipment and facilities to meet our demanding standards for quality and efficiency.

Automated equipment utilizing a bar-code system tracks your order, start to finish, virtually negating order discrepancies and allowing for maximum efficiency and shorter lead times.

We also offer the most up-to-date methods when it comes to ordering and customer service. VTonline, our customizable electronic ordering system, ensures accurate orders with reduced lead times. And, when you have questions, you can always reach out to one of VT's specialized customer service representatives. Answers are never more than a phone call away.

  • VT Industries and the Environment

  • We don't just work in this world. We live in it, too. That's why we take every possible step toward promoting an environmentally conscious workplace. Our manufacturing techniques are constantly monitored and adapted to ensure environmental responsibility.

From environmentally friendly adhesives to water-based stains, we're committed to meeting-and exceeding, when possible-the requirements to eliminate hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). We also offer formaldehyde-free doors using SCL and our new agrifiber core.

We realize that our responsibility doesn't end with the manufacturing process. For that reason, our offices are based on an electronic philosophy, and any paper generated in those offices is diligently recycled.

  • Our Commitment to Lean Manufacturing

  • Waste drives cost. It's a simple tenet of business. VT Industries wastes as little as possible to keep overhead low and ensure we deliver you superior products at competitive pricing.

To keep waste at a minimum, we employ every possible means of lean manufacturing-from reusing scraps of core materials to heating our plants with sawdust inevitably left over from the manufacturing process.

Even our distribution system for countertops is lean. By manufacturing countertops across the country, we're able to deliver our products in the most efficient way possible.

All employees - from manufacturing to accounting - are encouraged and involved in helping find innovative ways to make our business efficient and effective. We continually research and implement ways to make our operations even leaner. This adds value to our products, providing our customers with the best possible results at the lowest price possible.
