Project Overview:
United Way of Central Texas (UWCT) focuses on nurturing healthy communities through thoughtful initiatives and investments. In order to support the increasing needs of its community and accommodate growth, UWCT recently moved into a 6,000 sq. ft. refurbished building. A primary section of the new facility houses their 2-1-1 Call Center division – a 24/7 health and human services resource with hundreds of volunteers handling more than 48,000 incoming calls a year.
Building Challenge:
When selecting a new facility, it was imperative to UWCT leadership that the building include long-lasting and beautiful materials that could support generations to come. “From the aesthetics to the superior quality, we knew the VT Industries doors would work well in our space,” shares Stephanie O’Bannon, President/CEO at UWCT. UWCT desired the warmth and naturalness of Cherry doors but also wanted to ensure that its beauty could be maintained in their active environment. They ultimately selected New Leaf Performance Veneers for their face material to ensure the doors would stand up to everyday wear and tear and look great for years to come.
New Leaf Performance Veneers are a new engineered, pre-finished veneer surface that brings the beauty, depth, and dimension of traditional veneers, but with added consistency and performance.
VT’s Contribution:
VT Industries manufactured a total of 24 doors for the United Way of Central Texas project. All the flush doors, including the pocket doors, featured particleboard cores and 5-ply construction. The UWCT team selected the New Leaf’s Cherry veneer in a fresh and warm Slate color.
