Project Overview:
The Multicare Health System’s new Milgard Pavilion in Tacoma, Washington is an emergency wing with 77 patient exam and treatment rooms. It has two floors that address the unique needs of adult and pediatric patients. In addition, the Multicare Regional Cancer Center has been expanded threefold.
Building Challenge:
With time a major constraint, everything had to go up quickly and efficiently, even the doors. The doors also had to provide a welcoming atmosphere and make the patients feel like they were at home and not at a hospital, especially in the Multicare Regional Cancer Center.
VT’s Contribution:
VT provided roughly 100 doors with all the needed hardware already installed. This saved the builders approximately 100 hours, or about two weeks, of man-hours. All doors arrived ready to mount and beautify the building.
The doors added interior beauty and helped share the hospital's surrounding natural beauty.
