- The high-profile office space called for oversized custom doors
Internet search giant Google opened a sales office in Reston, Virginia, a suburb of Washington D.C. The company is well known for its unique job culture and has been ranked multiple times as Fortune® Magazine’s #1 Best Place to Work.
The new Google facility called for four custom doors to help personalize the space in a manner that would capture the company’s distinctive aesthetic and live up to its high standard for employee comfort.
VT Industries produced four oversized doors that were hung in the office with sliding door hardware. Plain sliced maple veneers were stained red, blue, yellow, and green to match the Google logo colors. The doors also featured an SCL core and maple stiles for superior structural integrity that accommodated the sliding door hardware.
