The Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UMPC includes 9 floors of inpatient and outpatient care, a 41-bed emergency room, 79-bed critical care unit, 13 operating suites, and state-of-the-art nursing workstations. A 10-story research center, faculty pavilion, and administrative office building complete the campus.
The hospital required a door solution that fulfilled the architect’s design vision in a wide variety of applications. The doors also needed to address the heightened demands of the healthcare setting.
VT Industries supplied over 3,000 Architectural Wood Doors for the hospital. Plain sliced White Maple veneers were selected both for flush and stile & rail doors.
