PRODUCTION MANAGER

Reports Directly to the General Manager

 

Monthly Salaried Position that will be eligible for the Salaried Employee Bonus Plan.

 

General Responsibilities:
  • Promotes a safe work environment
  • Serves as a Safety Committee member and ensures safety compliance programs
  • Promotes and supports Lean Manufacturing and 5S to the fullest extent
  • Prepares budgets and maintains quality products at lowest possible cost
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, and operational reports
  • Determines causes of nonconformity with product specifications and production problems
  • Plans and directs production activities and establishes priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors
  • Manages 3 team leaders
  • Supports Open Door Policy and establishes Employee Communication programs
  • Works with HR to resolve concerns
  • Sets production schedules and goals ensuring on-time delivery of products
  • Hires new employees, evaluates employee performance, and dismiss as needed
  • Self-starter and able to work with little direction
  • Continually seeks process improvement to produce quality products with less labor and material cost
  • Keeps a positive attitude
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:
Five years wood industry experience.  Prefer Bachelors Degree.  Able to analyze and evaluate data.  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customer. Ability to identify, analyze and improve processes and be accountable for accurate and timely completion of production orders. Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
