What if my desktop area is set smaller than 1024x768? How do I change it?
If you have your settings at anything smaller than 1024x768 you may not seeing everything we have to offer or you may have to scroll left and right or up and down to view the entire page. Any setting larger than that will work fine if not better. Also, please note that 1024x768 is the size needed for our VTonline® program.

To change your settings in Windows:

  • Click Start (usually at the bottom left hand side of your computer screen)
  • Click Settings
  • Click Control panel
  • Click Display
  • Click Settings tab (this is one of the tabs across the top of that screen)
  • Under 'desktop area':
    • Slide it to: 1024 pixels x 768 pixels
    • Click the 'ok' button
  • Your screen may go black while settings are taking effect.
  • If you receive a message/prompt asking to accept these settings, choose yes.

How do I change the page colors and backgrounds in the Web browser?
You can change the background color or specify a background image for the page you're currently working on. These choices affect the way text and links in your page appear to people viewing the page through a browser.

To set the colors and background for the current page, begin from the Composer window:

  1. Open the Format menu and choose Page Colors and Background.
  2. Edit any of the following properties:

Reader's default colors: Select this if you want your page to use the color settings from the viewer's browser for text and links.

Use custom colors: Select this if you want to specify the colors of text and links. For each element, select a color from the drop-down list. Sample output for each type of link appears in the pane on the right.

Background image: Select this if you want the background of your page to be an image. Type the name of the image file or click Choose File to locate the image file on your hard drive or network. Note: Background images are tiled and override background color selections.

URL is relative to page location: If checked, Composer converts the URL to be relative to the page's location. This is especially useful if you plan to publish your pages on a Web server so that others can view them. Using relative URLs allows you to keep all your linked files in the same place relative to each other, regardless of their location on your hard disk or a Web server. Deselecting this option causes Composer to convert the URL to a full (absolute) URL. You typically use absolute URLs when linking to images on other Web servers (not stored locally on your hard disk). If you have unsaved changes, you must first save the page in order to enable this checkbox.

Note: To apply additional attributes or JavaScript events, click Advanced Edit to display the Advanced Property Editor.

You can also set the default page background and colors for every new page you create in Composer.

When I click on an email link nothing happens or I get an error message, why?
If you click on one of the email links and no email message box pops up, you do not have your browser's mail server set up. Simply use your own email system and be sure to fill in our email address. Our address may be highlighted and copied from the Web site and pasted into your email message's destination (to) line.

When I click send on an online form another email box pops up and/or a box asking me to install/setup something, why?
The online form is being sent via your Internet browser’s email. If your Internet browser’s email isn’t set up the form will NOT be submitted. Once you hit the ‘Send’ button on the form you receive a message stating: “You are sending this form via email. ALERT: If another email box appears after hitting Ok your claim/request was NOT sent as your browsers email is not set up. Please copy or type all information and put it in an email using your own email system and send it to us. Thank you.”. The fact that another email box appears lets you know that your browser’s email is NOT set up and the claim/request did NOT go through.

Please know that we are working on a better system of submitting online forms - in the mean time please follow the above instructions for submitting your claim/request (copying/typing the claim into your own email system) until you can set up your browser’s email.

If you would like to set up your Web browser’s email please contact your Internet provider for information and help and/or by using the install/setup box that pops up when ‘Send’ is clicked.
